“Who is a member of my Domain Admin group and who added them?” “Can I see what changes have been made in Domain Admin membership since the beginning of the year?” Over the past two years we’ve had lots of customers ask these and many similar questions. These requests have lead to richer reporting on Active Directory objects, changes over time and specific auditing scenarios. Working in conjunction with Monterey Technology Group we are please to now introduce the Active Directory Auditor, an AD discovery and audit reporting tool.
Our initial launch of this product is the “Essentials” version which provides User and Group Membership reporting. This version includes a standalone discovery client UI with command line interface that runs on Windows XP and Windows Server, with reporting via SQL Reporting Services. A Management Pack will also be available to integrate with your Operations Manager environment.
With its robust discovery capabilities and extensive reporting features the AD Auditor adds immediate value to any Windows organization. Customers can quickly discover their AD environment and report on Domains, Trusts, Computers, Users, Group Membership and Object Privileges. In addition delta comparisons and specific audit scenario’s enable customers in-depth forensic analysis and auditing.
The solution is available as a standalone application for auditors and integrated with our Audit Collection solutions. The improved Windows Security reporting enables richer filtering plus the ability to link back and forth between security events and Active Directory information.
When was the last time you audited your AD environment? Don’t waste another minute,

Audit Collection Optimization
Save literally thousands of dollars in offline storage costs with our new Secure Vantage Audit Collection Archiver. The Audit Collection Service (ACS) natively provides about an 8x compression ratio when collecting security events. We extend that compression ratio for offline storage another 8-12 times, providing customers optimal compression of the original events. This means that 100GB of security data on a SQL Server becomes just 8-12GB offline when using the Secure Vantage Audit Collection Archiver. We also have a nice ROI calculator you can request that shows the cost savings associated with the Archiver and Storage retention.
Not only does the Archiver optimize offline storage it also enables the ability to report across multiple collectors, a capability not supported out of box with ACS. This capability enables customers with larger enterprises to create a historical reporting server for Audit Collectors and provide centralized aggregate reporting across the enterprise.

Simplified licensing and lower entry costs is what we’ve introduced in our new solution suite.
We’ve moved to a more unified model that matches Microsoft System Center Operations Manager licensing, providing Standard and Enterprise license options. With the new model and reduce entry costs customers have access to more solutions at the same price. Learn more about our new licenses and bundle options online.
You’ll also be pleased to know our licensing is priced per physical host so customers are not charged for virtual instances, further reducing your overall TCO and matching Microsoft’s model.

Security Monitoring Configuration Management
With the release of Operations Manager 2007 and our Compliance Security Suite we have enabled enhanced methods for managing security controls and operations. These include improved knowledge content, advance monitoring and solution optimization templates. While multiple methods exist for you to edit MPs documenting them and tracking overrides in a friendly manner can be very labor intensive.
As monitoring, especially security monitoring, is about maintaining control and visibility of those controls, the manner in which you change them needs to be auditable. One method to manage MPs effectively is with the Silect Software MP Studio. The studio provides customers the ability to truly manage the changes occurring in their monitoring environments with intelligent reports to prove it. Visit
Silect Software and discover how you can effectively manage your MP configurations for security monitoring.
